Carol Brigham was appointed Managing Director, Funds Management and Banking Department (FBD), effective July 9, 2018. In this role, she is responsible for the management and strategic direction of the department that oversees the Bank’s fiscal-agent activities in the management of debt (wholesale and retail), foreign reserves and treasury risk. FBD is also responsible for the Bank’s payment and settlement activities, manages the assets of the Bank’s Pension Trust Fund and undertakes fundamental research to support the department’s full range of activities.
Ms. Brigham brings to her current role several years of international and domestic banking experience. She joined the Bank in 2011 and has since held increasingly senior positions, including Director, Financial Market Infrastructures Oversight, in the Financial Stability Department and, most recently, Deputy Managing Director, Financial Markets Department. As part of the senior leadership team that managed the department responsible for the Bank’s financial market activities, she was closely involved in the Resilience for Market and Banking Operations (RMBO) Program and the Financial Markets and Banking Operations (FMBO) project.
Ms. Brigham graduated with Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of Ottawa and holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
