Bank of Canada announces senior appointments in new internal structure

In order to hone its focus on a safe and sound financial system, reinforce research, and streamline management processes, the Bank of Canada has realigned responsibilities and made a series of senior appointments to lead its work in monetary policy, financial stability, management of the Government of Canada's funds, and Canadian bank notes.

Bank of Canada Governor reviews Canada's experience with inflation targets and a flexible exchange rate

In a speech to the Canadian Society of New York, Bank of Canada Governor David Dodge said today that Canada's monetary policy framework, based on an explicit inflation-control target and a flexible exchange rate, "has contributed importantly to putting the Canadian economy back on the right path to longer-term prosperity."

Process for selecting a Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada

Further to the 26 October 2015 announcement that Deputy Governor Agathe Côté will retire at the end of January 2016, the process to appoint her successor has been initiated. The Board of Directors has formed a selection committee to conduct the search and selection process, with the assistance of global executive recruiting firm Boyden.
