Bio

Sanjana is a Senior Economist in the International Economic Analysis (INT) department. Her work is currently focused on producing quarterly medium-term forecasts for the US and overseas regions. Prior to this position, she served as a Research Assistant in INT and Canadian Economic Analysis (CEA) and also worked as a Quantitative Associate with TD Canada Trust. Sanjana completed her M.A. in Economics from Queen's University.

Since the global financial crisis, core inflation has been persistently below target in most advanced economies. Recently, it has weakened further in several advanced economies despite gradually diminishing slack. This note reviews recent developments in core inflation across advanced economies and identifies distinctive patterns across regions.
