Jeremy Harrison returned to the role of Managing Director of Communications in July 2026, following a 3-year period of service as the Deputy Director of Communications at the International Monetary Fund. In his role, he is responsible for the Bank’s external and internal communications and provides strategic communications advice and services in support of the Bank’s core functions.
Mr. Harrison is an experienced senior leader with extensive international policy and strategic communications expertise. He joined the Bank in 1999 and served as press secretary to Governors David Dodge and Mark Carney from 2005 to 2008, before being appointed Director of Planning and Public Affairs. From 2013 to 2015, he was seconded to the Bank of England, where he served as Press Secretary to the Governor and later Head of the Media and Publications Division. Upon returning to the Bank in 2015, he became Senior Director of Communications Channels and was subsequently appointed Managing Director of Communications in 2017.
Mr. Harrison holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of British Columbia.
