Bio
Jackson Reid is a Research Assistant in the Real Sector Stability Division in the Financial Stability Department (FSD). In this role, he contributes to research and analysis assessing risks and vulnerabilities facing Canadian households, including developments in spending, credit performance and indebtedness.
Jackson holds a BA with Honours in Economics from the University of Alberta.
Staff research
We present a measure of account-level credit card spending constructed using credit bureau microdata, capturing monthly spending for approximately 80% of adults in Canada. Our measure offers higher frequency than other publicly available consumption metrics, and can be disaggregated by age, geographic location and credit history.
