Sylvia Xie is a Senior Analyst on the Financial Institution Statistics team in the Data and Digital Services Department at the Bank of Canada. Her work focuses on reviewing financial institutions’ regulatory returns and developing analytical tools that support data quality, financial sector analysis and risk monitoring. She also contributes to Canada’s work with the Financial Stability Board on non-bank financial intermediation and with the Bank for International Settlements on foreign exchange and derivatives markets. Before joining the Bank, she held roles at OSFI, RBC, IMCO and WSIB spanning prudential supervision, financial analytics and investment portfolio reporting. Sylvia holds CPA and CFA designations.
