The Bank of Canada is pleased to announce the recipient of its 2026 Law Enforcement Award of Excellence for Counterfeit Deterrence.
This award, which the Bank began presenting in 2004, recognizes the outstanding achievements of criminal justice professionals and educators involved in the prevention and deterrence of bank note counterfeiting in Canada.
This year’s recipient is Constable Michael Scott-Doornink of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), who has helped strengthen collaboration between law enforcement, the Bank of Canada, and private-sector partners across southern Ontario.
Through coordinated outreach, training, intelligence analysis and sharing, and through his investigative efforts, Constable Scott-Doornink has shown an unwavering commitment to safeguarding the economic and financial welfare of Canada.
Constable Scott-Doornink was honoured at the annual Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Summit, held in Edmonton on August 18, 2026.
