The Bank of Canada is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of its scholarship awards for students with disabilities, Indigenous students, LGBTQ2S+ students, francophones, and students who identify as a member of a visible minority or racialized group. We know that the inclusion of diverse identities and ideas fosters innovative thinking and better policy outcomes for Canadians. It’s core to our success as a leading central bank. That is why our scholarships are designed to encourage Canadians from diverse backgrounds to further their education and consider employment in fields related to the work of the Bank.

The 2025-26 award recipients are as follows:

  • Sughra Ashori, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Politics, with a minor in Economics at the University of Windsor
  • Melvin-Ikaze Nzabonimpa, pursuing a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Ottawa
  • Faiz Mustansar, pursuing a Bachelor of Computing in Computer Science at the University of Guelph
  • Kianna Carsolio, pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance at the University of Calgary
  • Erika Ladouceur, pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration at the Université du Québec à Montréal
  • Annabelle Demers, pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce and a Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa
  • Alexis Bédard, who has completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance at Université Laval
  • Celine Amaneddine, pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting at McGill University
  • Joseph Bouchard, pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce, with a major in Accountancy and a minor in Finance, at Concordia University
  • Matthew Larence, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at the University of Waterloo
  • Ysmael Siddarth, pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance at York University
  • Sonet-Lee Smart, pursuing a Bachelor of Communication, with a major in Information Design and a minor in Marketing and Business of Sport & Recreation at Mount Royal University

The 2025-26 recipients of the Bank’s Scholarship Award for Post-Secondary Students receive Can$8,000. The award is intended to assist the following students with tuition at an accredited academic institution:

  • Students with disabilities
  • Indigenous students
  • LGBTQ2S+ students
  • francophones
  • students who identify as a member of a racialized group

Successful candidates may be offered a work opportunity at the Bank, with mentorship by a Bank employee.
