August 24, 2011 Quarterly Financial Report - Second Quarter, 2011 - For the period ended 30 June 2011
The Bank of Canada’s Annual Report, including disclosure of climate-related risks and audited financial statements, and the Bank of Canada's Quarterly Financial Report.
June 9, 2011 In 2010, the economic recovery became firmly entrenched. The Bank’s Annual Report provides a Message from the Governor, highlights key achievements over the year, describes the Bank’s corporate governance, presents its financial statements, and discusses financial results.
July 15, 2010 A year of financial market strains and economic disruption in 2009 gave way to initial signs of progress in 2010, the year the Bank of Canada celebrates its 75th anniversary. The lessons of the past year vividly illustrate what the Bank has demonstrated repeatedly through seven and a half decades: the value of well-researched policy frameworks and decisive action.
January 30, 2009 It has been a difficult year. The financial turmoil that began mid-2007 deteriorated into a full-blown global financial crisis through 2008. While the resilience and soundness of the Canadian financial system were in many respects exceptional, the scale of the financial crisis and the subsequent global recession had an increasing impact by year’s end on our financial system and our economy.
January 30, 2008 The year 2007 was marked by sharply increased volatility in financial and foreign exchange markets, and a widening of credit spreads. Despite financial market turbulence, the Canadian economy continued to expand, and inflation remained close to our target of 2 per cent. In this, my final Annual Report message, I begin by reviewing the economic and financial developments and challenges of the past year. I then highlight seven important ongoing challenges faced by Canada and the Bank during my seven years as Governor.
