Today, the Spring 2026 Debt Management Strategy Consultations Summary is being published.
In May 2026, officials from the Department of Finance Canada and the Bank of Canada consulted with government securities distributors, institutional investors and other market participants to seek their views on the design and operation of the Government of Canada’s domestic debt program and relevant market developments.
Comments received during these consultations will be taken into consideration for the formulation of the preliminary 2027–28 Debt Management Strategy (expected to be published in the fall in Budget 2026).
The Bank of Canada and the Department of Finance Canada thank all parties for the comments they provided during the consultation process and, as always, welcome feedback on the Debt Management Strategy over the course of the year.
