Wes Scott was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Canada in October 2014.
Mr. Scott has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from
the University of Toronto.
Mr. Scott is a seasoned corporate executive who has made significant contributions to for-profit
and non-profit organizations at the senior management and Board level. He had a 31-year career
at BCE Inc. and was the company’s Chief Corporate Officer at the time of his retirement in
March 2001. His previously held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice-
President at Nortel Networks as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of Stentor.
Mr. Scott is currently Chairman of Aviva Canada. He has served on numerous Boards of
Directors, including those of public corporations such as Bell Canada, CGI Group Inc., Sears
Canada Inc. and Solectron Corporation. His public and community service has included a fiveyear
term as a member of the Ontario Securities Commission as well as a Trustee of the Hospital
for Sick Children and Trinity College at the University of Toronto.
