
Bio
Douglas Emsley was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Canada in June 2007.
Mr. Emsley is from Regina, Saskatchewan. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, both from York University.
Mr. Emsley is Chairman and President of the Assiniboia Capital Corp., a farmland ownership and management company. He is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SRG Security Resource Group Inc., a private investigation and security company, and of Input Capital Corp, a publicly traded agriculture streaming company providing working capital to Canadian farmers.
Mr. Emsley is President and Founder of SabreWest Oil & Gas Ltd. Previously, he served as Assistant Principal Secretary to the Premier of Saskatchewan and as Chief of Staff to the Saskatchewan Minister of Energy and Mines.
Mr. Emsley is a director of the Public Policy Forum. In the past, he was a director of the Institute for Research on Public Policy and a director of Royal Utilities Income Fund, a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange. He is also a founding member of the Saskatchewan Oil Industry Board of Governors.
