The Bank of Canada releases the Financial System Review
OTTAWA – The Financial System Review will be released on Thursday, May 16, 2019.
The Financial System Review (FSR) summarizes the Governing Council’s judgment on the main vulnerabilities and risks to the stability of the Canadian financial system and highlights the efforts of the Bank and other Canadian and international regulatory authorities to mitigate those risks. After a brief survey of macrofinancial conditions, the principal vulnerabilities and risks are examined.

At 8:00 (ET), journalists are invited to review the Financial System Review, under embargo, at the Bank’s head office in Ottawa (please use the Bank of Canada Museum entrance, located at 30 Bank Street, on the corner of Bank and Wellington), as well as at the regional offices in Toronto (Boardroom, 20th Floor, 150 King Street West) and Montréal (Salle Bernard-Bonin, 20th Floor, 1501 McGill College Avenue). Please be sure to have your press card with you.
For security reasons, those wishing to attend must confirm their presence by calling Media Relations at 613-782-8782 before noon (ET) on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Journalists who have not registered will not be admitted to the lock-up.
At 09:00 (ET), senior Bank officers will provide background information and respond to questions on the content of the FSR. Information gathered at the session may be used freely in news reports and commentaries, provided it is not attributed to the Bank or its officers. Electronic recording is not permitted.
At 10:30 (ET), the lock-up ends and the embargo is lifted.
The Financial System Review will be available at 10:30 (ET) on the Bank’s website.

At 11:15 (ET), Stephen S. Poloz, Governor of the Bank of Canada, will hold a press conference in the Bank of Canada’s auditorium. He will be accompanied by Senior Deputy Governor Carolyn A. Wilkins.
For security reasons, all media must register with the Bank in advance to attend the press conference.
