Alan Borger was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Canada in June 2014.
Born in Winnipeg, Mr. Borger received an MBA from the University of Virginia in 1992, an LLB from the University of Manitoba in 1986 and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University in 1983.
Mr. Borger has extensive experience in land development, urban affairs and revitalization projects in Manitoba. He is President and Chairman of the Board at Ladco Company Limited and Chairman of its wholly owned subsidiary, Borland Construction Inc., and has also served as Ladco’s Executive Vice-President and Corporate Counsel. Ladco is a pioneer in the land development business with interests in commercial and residential real estate, property management, construction and hospitality.
Mr. Borger is a member of the President’s Advisory Committee (University of Manitoba) and the Law Society of Manitoba. He has also served as a member of the Residential Tenancies Advisory Committee and as a director of The Forks North Portage Partnership and the New Home Warranty Program of Manitoba.
