Economist/Financial Analyst

Within the Bank's economics departments, we bring together outstanding teams who challenge and support each other in the delivery of economic research and monetary policy.

As an economist you will be recognized for your specialized expertise, and will contribute to the formulation and implementation of Bank policy in the areas of monetary policy, financial systems, funds management (including the Bank's role as Fiscal Agent) and currency. Analytical thinking, originality, and creativity are your key skills. You will have the opportunity to suggest and conduct high-quality analytical and research projects addressing key issues. Bank economics and financial specialists are called on to make presentations to a wide variety of internal and external audiences, including senior leaders at home and abroad, and encouraged to build their networks through strong relationships with government and international agencies, other central banks, financial market participants and organizations, and academics. Information Technology Specialists

Our IT department is a place for professionals to shine, where you'll provide not only infrastructure support to clients, but also automated solutions to a wide range of departments, including support to the analytic environment for our monetary policy and financial stability functions. We employ a broad range of professionals, from developers, business analysts and support desk agents to security experts, program project managers and solution architects. Our IT specialists thrive on the challenge of meeting the Bank's need for robust, reliable systems that allow us to fulfill our mandate as Canada's central bank.

Data Management Specialists

Our Data Management professionals have a central role in evaluating data quality. They provide analytic expertise and advanced technical support to help clients analyze their data needs and disseminate data products (i.e. reports, tables and graphs). Our specialists’ key skills include focus on quality, attention to detail, and problem solving. As the content owner for a variety of information assets which are critical to Bank’s mandate, our Data & Statistics Office (DSO) is continually seeking motivated and team-oriented professionals with expertise in data analysis, data manipulation, and metadata documentation to assist with the implementation of our information governance framework.

Communications Specialists

Communications is a critical function at the Bank. Our specialists take a central role in the development and delivery of strategic communications that inform a diverse internal and external audience about the Bank's public policy and corporate activities. Skilled writers and strategic thinkers are called on to write sensitive, high-profile material and develop comprehensive communication strategies critical to the achievement of the Bank's policy, program and communication objectives. The Communications department includes speechwriters, editors, translators, media and public affairs specialists, design and production staff, events managers and web communications specialists.

Human Resources Specialists

Our focus in Human Resources (HR) is to attract, retain and engage high-caliber talent. We develop and implement HR strategies, programs, and tools that focus on targeted recruitment, employee talent management, and providing a superior work environment to all our employees. Our team is composed of a variety of skilled professionals, including program development consultants, talent acquisition and payroll specialists, wellness and health and safety specialists, reporting analysts, client service representatives, and administrative staff. Your work in the HR department will give you a central role in supporting the Bank's workforce through projects that directly impact our employees.

Financial Services / Auditing Specialists

Take a central role on a team that supports a sound financial framework for effective decision-making and accountability across the Bank. We are looking for accountants, financial analysts, procurement and other professionals, including auditors, who are up to the challenge of assuring that complex operations and projects are executed efficiently and our risk-management, control, and governance processes are effective.

Facilities/Security Specialists

The Bank operates from its headquarters in Ottawa and from production facilities in Montreal and Toronto, along with smaller offices across the country. Maintaining and renewing our outstanding physical work environment is a demanding job that will constantly provide you with new challenges and learning opportunities. Our security officers and supervisors are highly trained professionals who safeguard the assets — personnel, information, valuables, and property — within those facilities, 24/7.
